I rejoice because of His Goodness, His Mercy and His Grace

I rejoice because of the breath He gives me

Breath I use to Live

Breath I use to love

Breath I use to laugh

Breath I use to praise Him
and thank Him each day

I rejoice because of His always evident love
Love showered on me through my wife,

my children

my family

I Rejoice!

I rejoice because His love fills my heart with a joy known by few

               but available to all
I Rejoice!

I rejoice because He let me feel the rain on my face and the grass between my toes
I Rejoice!

I rejoice because He lets me see His work every day
                A rainbow, a flower, a storm
                           My daughter's smiling eyes
               My son's inquisitive nature

A birds beautiful voice
I Rejoice!

I rejoice because I choose Him of my own will every day
               I choose light over darkness
                           Love over hate

               Happy over sad
I Rejoice!

I rejoice because He works through me
               He works with me
                          He works on me
I Rejoice!

I rejoice because he has in-trusted me, one of His lambs to be a steward of other lambs
               Sheltering their hearts and guiding their steps

                          So they one day will choose Him too
I Rejoice!

I rejoice because the light he has placed in me, in us all shines brighter in me each day
                I rejoice as part of my testimony

                           I rejoice because my God is an awesome God

I rejoice for there is no greater love
I Rejoice!

Noah's 6th Birthday

My son celebrated his 6th birthday last week. His class acknowledged his day during class and posted it to their blog. Happy Birthday Noah!

Never Say Good Bye (the Lost Session)

I have loved House Music since 1985. You see, House is a feeling that can not be explained. It is a genre that in many aspects refuses to be defined because House Music is more than just her soulful and progressive rhythm. House Music is more than her Disco roots. House music is Soul Music, jazz, gospel, RnB, Techno, Reggae, Classical, Folk and Poetry. If you don't know you may be asking yourself how can one genre be so many? It is in fact quite simple. House music has managed to stay independent of large record labels allowing it to stay creative, fresh, pure and uncorrupted. So, with in this genre you have many sub-genre including Gospel House, Deep House, Latin and others. These genre are what allow House to speak to people from so many different walks of life. Ask yourself, how many other forms of music have such broad appeal? How many other forms of music allow you to go to church, the jazz club and finally the symphony all in one night? How many other forms of music can invoke such emotion?

Many of you may think me crazy. Your are thinking, "it all sounds the same". You say this because you never allow yourself to hear past "the beat", that infectious, driving, heart pounding beat. The one that beckons you to the dance floor. You House Heads understand what I am saying. The beat that speaks to the very depths of you but I digress. If you hear past the beat you will find countless layers of vocal and instrumentation including classical and jazz guitar, organ, french horn, violin, piano, conga, spoken word, Gospel Soul and Folk vocals and much much more. House Music is a an ever evolving fusion of the life experiences of its producers. It has survived and flourished and continues to touch generations.
